County school superintendents' annual reports submitted to the Iowa Superintendent of Public Instruction. The reports cover every school district in and contain statistics on numbers of schools, classrooms and staff; enrollment figures; and financial data such as expenditures and receipts, tax amounts, bond principal and interest, and loans. The earlier reports include data on examinations of teachers, subjects taught, texts used and numbers of visits by the superintendents.
